Welcome to Chäsalp, embedded in the historical charm of the former farm building of the Alter Tobelhof restaurant. The lovingly restored house, which is proudly a listed protected building, welcomes you to an unforgettable experience in which cosiness and delicacy go hand in hand.


During the summer months, the spacious garden terrace offers the perfect setting to spend relaxing hours surrounded by idyllic nature and accompanied by romantic sunsets.

When the winter months arrive, Chäsalp transforms into a true oasis of well-being. With its rustic and cozy hut atmosphere, it offers the ideal retreat for beautiful evenings while the snowflakes dance outside. Experience the warmth and comfort of our restaurant when the cold season transforms the landscape into a winter wonderland.


Our historic restaurant offers you traditional Swiss cuisine, including – all year round – numerous variations of fondue and raclette. There are also seasonal specialties and a summer barbecue concept during the warmer months.

Since 1315

The Alter Tobelhof is located in the hamlet of the same name between Zürichberg and Adlisberg.

From Zurich-Fluntern, where Zurich Zoo is located, it can be reached in a 20-minute walk.

For guests arriving by car, we offer parking options subject to availability. If you decide to use public transport, Chäsalp is just a short, 3-minute walk from the Zurich Tobelhof bus stop.


Anyone who sees the hamlet for the first time may be amazed: the town is so close, the character of the former farm is so rural. A piece of land in the city - or in other words: a jewel in the middle of Zurich's local recreation area.


The group of buildings looks back on almost 500 years of history. The hamlet “Hof ze Tobel” was even mentioned as early as 1315.



Management Team

Wiebke Kehmann-Krause uses a lot of passion, commitment and attention to detail to ensure that every visitor feels comfortable from the first moment. She is only satisfied when the guests go home with a smile on their faces and a pleasant feeling in their stomaches and are already looking forward to their next visit.


Pascal Käser is the organizational heart of the trio. He takes care of the administrative work behind the scenes and he loves planning events. Be it traditional family celebrations, glamorous weddings or company parties from small to large. His credo: Nothing is impossible. Most important: Not only the guests but also the organizers should enjoy their event to the fullest.


Kitchen director Birger Kehmann loves regional and seasonal cuisine. He feels responsible not only for the people, but also for the products. The passionate chef, who has ten years of experience as head chef at the Alter Tobelhof restaurant, cares about fresh ingredients and the personal relationship with local suppliers.


For us, the focus is on people – our guests and our employees. Mutual appreciation is the basis for a place where everyone should feel at home.
